Results indicated that nicotine withdrawal exacerbates the behavioral signs of anxiety through alteration of the brain oxidative stress balance, inflammatory response and serotonin metabolism. En d’autres mots les acides gras polyinsaturés (n-3) aideraient pour prévenir les symptômes de sevrage de la nicotine et de l’alcohol. Il semble de plus que la diminution de l’anxiété subjective est dépendante en fonction de la dose utilisée.
